The needs of Nigerians are not peculiar to Nigerians alone, they want what the rest of the world wants, perhaps on a more heavy note.

All our needs could fit into one list. No, to just a sentence. Not even that, it could be moulded into a single phrase. But even that is too big, a single word will settle it… MONEY.

Nigerians need money like China needs clean air. And they never fail to go the extra mile, do the unthinkable to get it.

Being rich in developed countries is boring. Come to Nigeria and see the magic of money.

One rich man could turn an entire community to slaves because of his wealth… It happens even now, slavery was only abolished on paper. Perhaps a new type of slavery, the yes Sir, yes sir slavery.

You’re never ugly if you’re rich, at least no one will dare to say that.

You will have the highest of security. The government even gives you soldiers to guard your empty house, parked cars, and your sleeping wife.

You will receive title upon title in every Kingdom you go to… Poor people are not given titles. It is an insult to that kingdom.

We hate poor people. No one likes people who have the same faults as they are.

“If you’re not talking money you’re talking nonsense”.

“If money is not the center of discussion count me out”.

A poor man never wins an election in Nigeria. Elections are very expensive and only the rich, the super rich could afford it. Poor, honest politicians are not even respected, they are riddicled mostly by their closest relatives.

We have no social stigma for corrupt political leaders who are known to have siphoned public funds. We worship them with the hopes that crumbs might fall from their mouth to us.

Every tribe and state encourages politicians representing them to go, steal and bring the money home. “share it amongst us, and don’t forget we have a chieftaincy title waiting for you. No, it’s okay, represent us like this forever as far as you bring little money back home to us”.

Nigerian Women naturally hate men without money. They can’t stand such men, well only a quarter of a handful is exempted. “You’re broke? How do I buy my make up and toiletries? Call me when you have money”.

Young men wants to buy the latest Benz.

Most Nigerians won’t even worship God in a church were the pastor (s) are poor.

I’m I exaggerating Nigerians obsession with money too low or too high?

Well, my friend, it all depends on where you stand, where you’ve been and what you have seen.

You see why some Nigerians will do anything to become rich? being rich in this country is like being God on Earth.

Forget faith, what you need in Nigeria is money to move mountains.
